Focus and Scope

The journal was founded in 2013 and since then it has been providing space for research in the area of translation criticism and beyond. The aim of the journal is to contribute to the visibility of translators and to their social situation. 

Scope of the journal

The journal consists of three parts:


  • area of translation criticism (literary, specialized and audiovisual)
  • objectivity of translation criticism and its non/acceptance by translators
  • metatranslation criticism/theory of translation criticism
  • history of translation
  • history of translation criticism
  • social status of a translator
  • (in)visibility of a translator
